Step 2

Apply through the official route

Apply online from outside Sweden, attach documents and pay the fee. The Agency then instructs you on a digital or in-person passport check and any interview or biometric requirement.

Check age, passport validity, holiday purpose, initial support and separate return travel. Note the Australian insurance exemption.
Prepare passport scans, a bank statement no more than six months old, travel evidence and any certified Swedish or English translations.
Apply online while outside Sweden, pay the fee and identify a suitable Swedish mission in case attendance is required.
Respond to the passport-check instructions and any further requests. Read the decision and follow the card or entry instructions before relying on work permission.

Read your approval and entry conditions

Read the entire approval notice: identity, dates, entry deadline and conditions. Keep it available offline. Do not assume the visa starts on your preferred date.

Step 4

Get ready for the trip

Keep access to your application messages. A digital passport check may be offered, but the Agency can require personal attendance. Budget for travel to a mission if necessary.

Start your Working Holiday
