Step 2

Apply through the official route

The bilateral arrangement establishes the Australian long-stay route. Confirm the current WH submission channel with the Slovenian embassy Canberra using its national-D instructions; delegated VFS guidance has a dedicated Australian WH section.

  1. Confirm the national-D Working Holiday channel and appointment requirements with the embassy or its instructed provider.
  2. Request the Home Affairs support letter and obtain secondary-school evidence and the applicable health/character documents.
  3. Prepare passport, initial and departure means, full insurance and D-visa form/photo; confirm the precise validity margin and provider charges.
  4. Submit through the instructed channel within its confirmed lead-time window; inspect the issued work/study conditions before travel.

Step 3

Read your approval and entry conditions

Read the entire approval notice: identity, dates, entry deadline and conditions. Keep it available offline. Do not assume the visa starts on your preferred date.

Step 4

Get ready for the trip

The embassy’s general page is not a full WH checklist. Confirm the current submission channel and evidence before paying; keep the treaty’s Australian conditions separate from reverse-direction requirements.

  • Passport, visa and requested evidence accessible offline.
  • Initial funds, insurance and departure costs checked separately.
  • First accommodation and airport transport arranged.

Step 5

Start your Working Holiday

Track employment with each employer and seek permission before exceeding six months. Leave room for holidays within the 12-month stay and keep study/training within four months.

Work

Holiday must remain primary; agreement does not allow employment throughout all 12 calendar months.
