Step 2

Apply through the official route

From outside Chile, use SERMIG digital procedures: Tratados Internacionales, then Working Holiday. Do not use a Mercosur or general business route.

  1. Check Australian 18–30, education, Spanish, no dependent children and previous participation.
  2. Confirm current support-letter, insurance, medical and education evidence; retain apostilles/legalizations requested.
  3. Apply outside Chile through SERMIG’s international-agreements Working Holiday category.
  4. Follow the authority’s evidence/payment requests; read entry, work and study conditions in the decision.

Step 3

Read your approval and entry conditions

Read the entire approval notice: identity, dates, entry deadline and conditions. Keep it available offline. Do not assume the visa starts on your preferred date.

Step 4

Get ready for the trip

Prepare functional Spanish, education and authority-letter evidence. Separate support and return budgets; confirm the 2024 checklist’s work wording rather than promising work for the whole year.

  • Passport, visa and requested evidence accessible offline.
  • Initial funds, insurance and departure costs checked separately.
  • First accommodation and airport transport arranged.

Step 5

Start your Working Holiday

Read the actual permission before employment or courses. Ask SERMIG about local identification/registration steps and clarify the same-employer versus total-work wording before a long contract.

Work

2024 Australian panel says six months with one employer and also not working all 12 months; it gives no clear separate total-work ceiling. Confirm before a long contract.
