Step 2
Apply through the official route
- Apply outside Ireland: send the signed Canberra form and original passport/evidence by registered mail or courier; UK residents may use London.
- Prepare two named photos, current CV/references, education/student evidence, passport valid three months past departure and accessible funds.
- Follow the current mission fee/payment instructions and retain copies and return-post arrangements; await the authorisation.
- Activate within twelve months of issue and arrange first registration through current ISD instructions after arrival.
Step 3
Read your approval and entry conditions
Read the entire approval notice: identity, dates, entry deadline and conditions. Keep it available offline. Do not assume the visa starts on your preferred date.
Step 4
Get ready for the trip
Decide between AUD 2500 plus return ticket or AUD 5000 without one. Budget the authorisation and separate residence-registration charges; confirm insurance. The form prohibits formal study and a second authorisation even if the first was unused.

Step 5
Start your Working Holiday
Carry the authorisation and funds evidence for border checks. Follow current ISD registration through its Customer Service Portal; the linked form requests registration within one month. Old GNIB/local Garda booking instructions are not the current service route. Track six months per employer.
