Step 2
Apply through the official route
- Confirm current Wellington submission logistics and the separate immigration visa arrangements; file at least 30 days before intended entry.
- Submit one complete permit file personally or by post to Vietnam’s Embassy in New Zealand with required health, education, financial and identity evidence.
- Embassy forwards the complete file to the Bureau of Employment; await the written permit outcome and arrange the correct visa before travel.
- Within 5 days of entry collect the permit at the designated Bureau or Ho Chi Minh City employment service office; follow employer endorsement and reporting requirements.

Read your approval and entry conditions
Read the entire approval notice: identity, dates, entry deadline and conditions. Keep it available offline. Do not assume the visa starts on your preferred date.
Step 4
Get ready for the trip
Arrange the health certificate within 180 days and NCEA Level 2 evidence. Confirm the NZ account’s Vietnam transaction capability, keep departure funds separate, and obtain exact visa, insurance and course instructions before bookings.

Step 5
Start your Working Holiday
