Step 2
Apply through the official route
- Apply from outside Sweden under the New Zealand working-holiday residence-permit category through the agency’s official service.
- Prepare passport, bank evidence of SEK 15,000, departure travel/funds and comprehensive health insurance.
- Pay SEK 1,500, submit Swedish/English evidence and complete the digital passport check or personal presentation when requested.
- Wait for the decision and follow the instructions for fingerprints, photograph and residence-permit card before the working stay.
Step 3
Read your approval and entry conditions
Read the entire approval notice: identity, dates, entry deadline and conditions. Keep it available offline. Do not assume the visa starts on your preferred date.
Step 4
Get ready for the trip
The insurance exemption for Australians does not apply to New Zealanders. Cover the entire stay, including urgent and other care, hospitalisation, emergency dental care and medical repatriation. Reserve return travel separately from the initial SEK 15,000.

Step 5
Start your Working Holiday
Read the granted dates and card instructions; no work may continue after expiry. Employment must support the holiday, not replace its purpose. Ask the agency about study and any local registration obligations before making commitments.
Work
You may work while the permit is valid, and work rights end when it expires. A limit with one employer has not been established in the checked New Zealand guidance.
