Governments can change visa requirements at any time. Always check the official government pages before applying.

Requirements, application steps and preparation before departure.

A New Zealand annual allocation is not established by this mission page.

Step 2

Apply through the official route

  1. Arrange a personal appointment at Sydney or confirm another competent Slovak mission abroad; applications cannot be mailed or lodged in Slovakia.
  2. Mark other reasons and Youth Mobility Stay (WHV) in the national-visa form as instructed.
  3. Present the New Zealand checklist evidence and pay the confirmed fee; choose the visa’s actual start and end dates carefully.
  4. Await the visa, check the sticker and obtain any employer-facing confirmation of the work-permit exemption.

Step 3

Read your approval and entry conditions

Read the entire approval notice: identity, dates, entry deadline and conditions. Keep it available offline. Do not assume the visa starts on your preferred date.

Step 4

Get ready for the trip

Set aside EUR 1,785 plus departure travel, and obtain full-stay medical/hospital insurance of at least EUR 30,000 including repatriation. Prepare education and birth evidence. A year from the sticker start can be shorter in practice if entry is delayed.

  • Passport, visa and requested evidence accessible offline.
  • Initial funds, insurance and departure costs checked separately.
  • First accommodation and airport transport arranged.

Step 5

Start your Working Holiday

Register the address with the competent Foreign Police within three working days unless the accommodation facility has done so. The mission offers written confirmation that no work permit is needed. Track six months per employer and six months of study.

Language courses · commercial service

Plan a language course for your trip.

Through ViveCampus you can request language-course quotes with international-student discounts. Offers may vary by your country of origin and destination. A personalized quote confirms available discounts and the final price. Booking a course does not guarantee a visa.
