Age when applying
18–35 years
You must be 18–35 inclusive when applying. Age alone does not establish that you meet the other requirements.
Argentine passport / practical guide
Plan your Working Holiday visa application for Spain: review Argentina’s programme, organise your budget and know what to confirm before travelling.
Governments can change visa requirements at any time. Always check the official government pages before applying.

Step 1
18–35 years
You must be 18–35 inclusive when applying. Age alone does not establish that you meet the other requirements.
Argentine citizenship and residence
You must be an Argentine citizen resident in Argentina. Buenos Aires requires a current DNI showing an address in its district and a passport valid for at least one year, with two blank pages and issued no more than ten years ago. Use the consulate responsible for your residence.
The reviewed instructions do not specify an English test. Check your consulate’s documents and the language needed for each job; job requirements and visa requirements are different.

Explore language courses →Higher qualification or 2 university years
You need a university degree, equivalent higher-education qualification or at least two completed university years. Buenos Aires says the two-year route excludes non-university tertiary study and requires an apostilled transcript. It also requires an apostilled criminal-record certificate issued within the last three months, signed national-visa form, photo, EX-15 and form 790 code 12 for the NIE. Previous participants and accompanying dependants are excluded.
Spain calls this option the Youth Mobility Programme. Look for that name in official instructions, even though this guide uses Working Holiday to make destinations easier to compare.

Step 2
500 visas per year
The annual allocation is divided among five Spanish consulates in Argentina. It does not show how many visas remain.
Up to 90 days before travel
Buenos Aires accepts applications no more than 90 days before planned travel, aligned with insurance coverage. This is a filing lead time, not an annual opening date. Check your own consulate’s notices and appointments.

The consular sheet refers to its current fee table. Confirm the visa fee, NIE fee and any intake charge before your appointment. Check the current official fee table before paying.

Apply to the consulate responsible for your address. Buenos Aires uses BLS appointments under its specific sheet, which also requires NIE forms; confirm the route separately for other consulates.
A programme-specific decision period is unconfirmed in this review. Ask your consulate; the 90-day advance-filing limit is not a processing period. ARES2
Read official instructionsWe do not handle visa applications or receive application documents. Do not send personal documents to this website.
Step 3
Wait for a written decision. Before booking, check your entry deadline and the conditions of the permit you receive.
Up to 12 months
The stay can last up to 12 months. Check the validity and entry dates on your visa before planning travel. Return to your country when the authorised stay ends.
Step 4
EUR 1,221 per month (2026)
Buenos Aires lists EUR 1,221 per month for 2026. Without a return ticket, evidence must cover 12 months: at least EUR 14,652 or equivalent. With a return ticket, funds correspond to the planned stay, up to 12 months. A return ticket or resources to buy one is also required. Reconfirm amounts and evidence with your consulate.

Cover throughout your stay
The agreement requires comprehensive accident and health cover throughout the stay, including hospitalisation and repatriation for illness or death. Buenos Aires adds a minimum EUR 30,000 coverage. Check policy dates and conditions.
Mark what you have reviewed. This helps you organise your trip; it is not a requirements assessment.
These marks are not saved or sent. Reloading clears them.
Step 5
Up to 6 months in total
The limit is six months in total, not six months per employer. Work is incidental to the trip; changing employers does not restart the allowance.
Up to 6 months in total
Training or further-study courses may last up to six months in total; volunteering is also permitted. Check course dates against your visa before booking.
Explore language courses →Buenos Aires processes the NIE with the visa. Its sheet says a TIE is not required after entry: the visa itself establishes your status. Follow the conditions issued to you and carry copies of insurance and supporting documents.

Agreements differ by destination. Check age, documents and conditions separately.
Use the consulate responsible for your Argentine DNI address. The BLS route specified for Buenos Aires does not automatically apply elsewhere.
Buenos Aires says the two-year route is university study, not non-university tertiary study. A university degree or equivalent higher qualification is another route; prepare the specified apostilled evidence.

For 2026, Buenos Aires lists EUR 1,221 monthly; without a return ticket it requires twelve months, EUR 14,652. With a ticket, it calculates against the planned stay. Reconfirm amounts and return arrangements separately.

Buenos Aires accepts filing up to 90 days before planned travel. This is advance filing, not an annual opening or an appointment guarantee.

The limit is six months in total, not per company. Training courses are also limited to six months in total.
The Buenos Aires sheet says no: the visa establishes status and the NIE is processed with it. Check the instructions and dates issued in your case.
