Step 1

Check requirements and prepare your language skills

Age when applying

18–30 years

Age at application.

Passport and nationality

Argentine;3 months after departure

Prudent preparation: Spanish guidance requires validity after departure; German text says 90 days after entry. Both instructions are preserved.

Documents and previous participation

First participation

Check form, declaration, photo, CV, personal motivation and police evidence. Bring originals and copies under the instructions.

Flights: confirm acceptable evidence

Spanish guidance accepts a ticket or reservation; the FAQ and German text ask for a ticket. Prepare for the stricter document, but confirm before non-refundable spending.

Allow time for a decision

Spanish guidance estimates around a week; German guidance allows up to a month. Plan around the longer estimate; neither is guaranteed.

Language courses · commercial service

Prepare your language skills before travelling.

Through ViveCampus, you can get quotes for language courses with international-student discounts. Offers may vary by your country of origin and destination. Request a personalized quote to confirm available discounts and the final price. Booking a course does not guarantee a visa.

Step 2

Apply for the Working Holiday visa

Annual quota

No participant cap according to FAQ

This does not mean unlimited appointments. Confirm the current booking channel.

The current list places travel within 3 months of appointment; the older FAQ says 6 months. Plan around the shorter period and confirm before purchasing.

Cash at the embassy’s exchange rate; reconfirm at filing.

How to prepare your application

For Buenos Aires, join the official waiting list. Booking is free; an assigned appointment is not visa approval. If considering another German mission, confirm its jurisdiction and documents directly.

  1. Read Argentina’s checklist and its passport, flight and timing differences from the FAQ. Prepare the full budget.
  2. Join the waiting list and await allocation. Complete the forms and gather originals plus oneA4 copy.
  3. Attend personally with the complete file and the peso equivalent ofEUR 75. Confirm payment and source discrepancies before non-refundable spending.
  4. Wait for the decision and check printed dates; the start does not automatically move to your arrival.

The Spanish checklist andFAQ indicate about one week. Earlier research of the German version recorded up to a month; allow that longer margin and confirm with the office. Appointment waiting time is additional. ARDE-CHECKLIST-18 ARDE-FAQ-18 ARDE3

If my visa is approved

Step 4

Get ready for my trip

Funds for your stay

EUR 1,326 + accommodation + departure

Three months’ living funds, plus accommodation for those months and a return ticket or an extra EUR 1,000. This is not the full-year budget.

Include accident cover and medical/death repatriation.

Step 5

Start my Working Holiday in Germany

Work conditions

Maximum 6 months in total

Spanish guidance and the FAQ limit total work. Changing employers does not restart that allowance.

Address and work conditions

If moving into a home in Berlin, its portal requires registration within 14 days, with exceptions for certain stays of up to three months from abroad. Prepare passport and the housing provider’s confirmation; a rent contract does not replace it. Elsewhere, check your local office. Keep the Argentine work limits and your visa dates.

Your first days

  • Plan your transfer and keep your accommodation address available offline.
  • Before accepting a job, check the contract, work conditions and relevant local formalities.
  • If studying, confirm your timetable and location with the school. Save support contacts and review your budget.
