Step 2

Apply through the official route

  1. Check first participation, age and holiday purpose and book the responsible office.
  2. Prepare VIDEX, declarations, confirmation, CV and motivation with A4 documents in the required order.
  3. Update banking records the day before and attend personally with funds, insurance and travel evidence.
  4. Check the passport and permission returned by post and carry funds and insurance evidence for entry.

Step 3

Read your approval and entry conditions

Read the entire approval notice: identity, dates, entry deadline and conditions. Keep it available offline. Do not assume the visa starts on your preferred date.

Step 4

Get ready for the trip

Prepare account history and holder details plus motivation and CV in English or German. Check dental, applicable pregnancy and liability cover, and distinguish the return-ticket and one-way-ticket funds rules.

  • Passport, visa and requested evidence accessible offline.
  • Initial funds, insurance and departure costs checked separately.
  • First accommodation and airport transport arranged.

Step 5

Start your Working Holiday

Carry funds and insurance evidence and check the permission. Japanese guidance permits the same employer throughout the stay, while holiday remains primary and pre-arranged contracts or internships have separate visa instructions.

Work

Holiday must remain primary. Au pair work is excluded; the page says an internship or pre-arranged employment contract requires a work visa instead.

Language courses · commercial service

Plan a language course for your trip.

Through ViveCampus you can request language-course quotes with international-student discounts. Offers may vary by your country of origin and destination. A personalized quote confirms available discounts and the final price. Booking a course does not guarantee a visa.
