Step 2

Apply through the official route

  1. Check age, Taiwan passport, household registration and whether you have previously received a New Zealand Working Holiday visa.
  2. Prepare NZD 4,200, additional departure funds and full-stay medical insurance, checking passport validity and translations.
  3. Apply and pay in English through the official system under INZ announcements, providing medical, character or other evidence as requested.
  4. Wait for the eVisa and check its dates, planning entry within twelve months of issue and preparing the traveller declaration and entry evidence.

Step 3

Read your approval and entry conditions

Read the entire approval notice: identity, dates, entry deadline and conditions. Keep it available offline. Do not assume the visa starts on your preferred date.

Step 4

Get ready for the trip

Household registration and a Taiwan passport are identity conditions of this scheme. The passport must remain valid at least three months beyond visa expiry. Prepare NZD 4,200 living funds separately from departure travel; insurance must cover the whole stay and hospital treatment. Follow INZ requests for examinations, chest X-rays or police evidence, using accepted English translations where required.

  • Passport, visa and requested evidence accessible offline.
  • Initial funds, insurance and departure costs checked separately.
  • First accommodation and airport transport arranged.

Step 5

Start your Working Holiday

Complete the New Zealand Traveller Declaration and carry the eVisa, passport, insurance, funds and departure arrangements. Check IRD tax number instructions before working; the same-employer limit is three months and total study or training is six months.
