This is the university-based Work Holiday Programme, not the separate Work and Holiday Visa Programme.

Initial funds
The reviewed MOM eligibility and application pages do not establish a numeric living-funds threshold. Plan housing, daily expenses and the required departure ticket separately.
Visa fee
An additional SGD 30 Multiple Journey Visa fee applies only if required. These are MOM charges, separate from travel and living costs.

MOM specifies capacity for 2,000 pass holders at any one time. This is concurrent capacity, not an annual quota or evidence that a place is available.

Get the pass issued within three months of the in-principle approval letter. Previous holders must wait twelve months after their last pass ended before reapplying.

Education and supporting documents
You must be an undergraduate or graduate of a government-recognised university in one of ten listed countries, including the US. Undergraduates need at least 3 months of residence and full-time study before applying; graduates must have been resident full-time students. A US passport alone is insufficient.

Step 2
Apply through the official route
Apply online with university and passport evidence; receive the in-principle approval, enter Singapore and obtain pass issuance within three months of that letter. Work starts under the issued notification letter, followed by any required registration and card delivery.
- Confirm your university, residence and full-time study meet MOM’s eligibility conditions.
- Apply through MOM with your passport copy and the appropriate university evidence. Obtain a university-certified English translation when needed.
- Wait for the in-principle approval, then follow its arrival instructions. You must be in Singapore to have the pass issued within the stated deadline.
- Pay the issuance charges, provide the return ticket and complete any required registration. The issued notification letter permits work while the card is prepared.
Step 3
Read your approval and entry conditions
Read the entire approval notice: identity, dates, entry deadline and conditions. Keep it available offline. Do not assume the visa starts on your preferred date.
Step 4
Get ready for the trip
Keep the university evidence, passport copy and approval letter together. Budget separately for the pass charge and living costs; arrange the return ticket required for issuance.

Step 5
Start your Working Holiday
