Step 2

Apply for the visa

Apply online in English to Immigration New Zealand: documents, fee and eVisa decision. A previous New Zealand Working Holiday grant prevents another application even if unused. PL-NZ-20261018

  1. Check Polish passport, age 18–30 and no previous New Zealand Working Holiday grant.
  2. Prepare NZD 4,200 maintenance, separate departure resources and full insurance; passport must remain valid three months after visa expiry.
  3. Complete the English online application, upload evidence and pay the current fee. Supply medical and police evidence if INZ requests it.
  4. Read the eVisa and enter within 12 months of issue; plan the traveller declaration and IRD tax number before working.

Step 3

After approval

Read the entire approval notice: identity, dates, entry deadline and conditions. Keep it available offline. Do not assume the visa starts on your preferred date.

Step 4

Prepare your trip

Keep NZD 4,200 separate from a departure ticket or resources, with full-stay medical and hospital cover. Do not accept permanent work; the Polish route limits the same employer to three months.

  • Passport, visa and requested evidence accessible offline.
  • Initial funds, insurance and departure costs checked separately.
  • First accommodation and airport transport arranged.

Step 5

Start your Working Holiday

Before travel, complete the New Zealand Traveller Declaration under its current instructions. Obtain an IRD number for work. Track the three-month limit with the same employer and six months of total study.

Work

Temporary work can run through the stay, with a three-month maximum per employer; no permanent job.
