Documents and participation

Current SERMIG guidance requires applying from abroad through its digital portal: Tratados Internacionales, then Working Holiday. Older consular filing text is context; confirm your nationality’s document list.

Step 2

Apply for the visa

From outside Chile, use the SERMIG portal: Tratados Internacionales → Working Holiday. The Polish-Chilean agreement defines the programme; older consular descriptions do not replace the current digital channel. CL-PROCEDURE-20261018

  1. Read the Polish-Chilean agreement, age 18–30 and maximum one-year stay, and the current SERMIG subcategory.
  2. Prepare passport, photo, funds and requested police evidence; confirm treaty exceptions, translation and authentication.
  3. Apply from abroad through Tratados Internacionales → Working Holiday and keep the receipt. The application alone is not permission to work.
  4. After a decision, check electronic-permit download and entry deadlines and identity-card obligations.

Step 3

After approval

Read the entire approval notice: identity, dates, entry deadline and conditions. Keep it available offline. Do not assume the visa starts on your preferred date.

Step 4

Prepare your trip

General SERMIG guidance covers police evidence from the origin country or country of residence over the past five years, no more than 60 days old, and Spanish/English or accepted translations. Check treaty exceptions before apostille/legalisation. A Polish-route funds amount is not confirmed here.

  • Passport, visa and requested evidence accessible offline.
  • Initial funds, insurance and departure costs checked separately.
  • First accommodation and airport transport arranged.

Step 5

Start your Working Holiday

For a grant issued abroad, download the electronic permit within 120 working days, then enter within 90 calendar days. Book an identity-card appointment within 30 days after entry. Old PDI registration does not apply to grants after 12 February 2022.
