Apply from outside Australia. You cannot previously have entered on a 417 or 462 for this first visa.

Functional English with evidence
Check accepted tests or education with Home Affairs. Self-assessment or paying for a course does not prove the requirement.

Peru is listed as requiring a support letter. An accepted tertiary qualification or two years of undergraduate university study is required; also check health, character and biometrics.
If character evidence is required, Lima’s guidance lists criminal and judicial certificates. Upload originals and English translations appropriate to the document; check your personalised ImmiAccount requests.

Language courses · commercial service
Through ViveCampus, you can get quotes for language courses with international-student discounts. Offers may vary by your country of origin and destination. Request a personalized quote to confirm available discounts and the final price. Booking a course does not guarantee a visa.
Step 2
1,500 visas per programme year

Programme year: July–June
The programme year runs from 1 July to 30 June. Home Affairs gives a general 2 July opening in Australia (AEST), while Lima mentions 1 July. Prepare from the first and confirm official date and time; no Peruvian date is inferred without a time.
The dynamic Home Affairs page did not expose the charge applicable to Peru in this review. Confirm it through the official estimator or application; do not use another nationality’s reduced fee.

Step 3
Wait for a written decision. Before booking, check your entry deadline and the conditions of the permit you receive.
Up to 12 months
The first 462 permits a twelve-month stay. Read your grant for the entry deadline and all conditions.

Step 4
AUD 5,000 + flight funds
Lima’s embassy specifies at least AUD 5,000 plus flights. Home Affairs says “usually about AUD 5,000”. Prepare at least that amount plus flights and confirm evidence.
The reviewed Lima guide sets no specific compulsory policy for the first Peruvian 462. Check visa conditions and medical cover before travel; no limits or exemption are invented.

Mark what you have reviewed. This helps you organise your trip; it is not a requirements assessment.
These marks are not saved or sent. Reloading clears them.
Step 5
Usually 6 months per employer
You can work during the authorised stay, subject to the usual six-month limit with one employer. Official exemptions and permissions apply; it is not a six-month total work limit.

Up to 4 months
Fit your course within the four-month study limit and your visa validity.
