Use Vacation and Work instructions for this application. Tourist-entry guidance does not replace confirmation of work permission.

Documents and checks before filing

Bring originals and copies of the passport, bank statements and address evidence under the checklist. The passport must have more than six months’ validity; address evidence must be no more than three months old. For a tropical-zone stay, the checklist requests yellow-fever evidence: confirm its application with the consulate. Also request the exact insurance, stay and study conditions, which this checklist does not establish.

Language courses · commercial service

Prepare your language skills before travelling.

Through ViveCampus, you can get quotes for language courses with international-student discounts. Offers may vary by your country of origin and destination. Request a personalized quote to confirm available discounts and the final price. Booking a course does not guarantee a visa.

Step 2

Apply for the Working Holiday visa

Annual quota

The current value for Mexican applicants was not established in the inspected sources. Request this category’s information from the authority before spending money.

Application dates

Confirm an appointment with Peru’s consulate in Mexico.

Visa fee

The inspected checklist, modified in January 2026, lists MXN 525 and direct bank deposit rather than transfer. Reconfirm the current amount and process before paying; that figure is not presented as a total cost or a guarantee it remains current.

How to prepare your application

  1. Confirm that you will use the Pacific Alliance Exchange Visa for Mexican applicants and review Peru’s Mexico consulate checklist.
  2. Prepare form DGC005, two photos, passport and copy, three months of bank statements, departure provision, police evidence and recent address proof.
  3. Check the current e-SAMI instructions and confirm how they combine with this category’s appointment and personal filing. Verify the amount and payment method before depositing money.
  4. Submit the file under consular instructions, respond to additional requests and wait for the delivery date. Check the issued conditions before travelling.

The checklist says the consulate will advise the delivery date; it does not establish a numerical decision timeframe for this file.

Step 3

If my visa is approved

Wait for a written decision. Before booking, check your entry deadline and the conditions of the permit you receive.

Length of stay

The inspected Mexican checklist does not clearly establish the stay period and entry deadline. Confirm them with the consulate before booking; another Peruvian agreement’s periods are not copied.

Step 4

Get ready for my trip

Funds for your stay

Provide the last three months’ bank statements; onward travel or funds to buy it. Confirm solvency evidence.

Travel insurance

The inspected Mexican checklist does not detail insurance coverage requirements. Request the programme’s applicable conditions before buying a policy; tourist insurance recommendations do not replace that check.

Work conditions

Work as a secondary activity

The main purpose is visiting and learning about the country.

Check the issued authorisation

Keep the passport with the visa and applicable departure, funds and insurance evidence. Before travelling, confirm the deadline to use it, the granted stay and any immigration registration. Do not apply the work or study limits of Peru’s agreements with Australia, Portugal or France to a Mexican visa.

Your first days

  • Plan your transfer and keep your accommodation address available offline.
  • Before accepting a job, check the contract, work conditions and relevant local formalities.
  • If studying, confirm your timetable and location with the school. Save support contacts and review your budget.

Frequently asked questions

Can I complete the whole process remotely?

The general page offers e-SAMI application registration, but the Pacific Alliance checklist requires personal filing and an appointment. Confirm which stage is online and which requires attendance.

References: MX-PE-CHECKLIST-18 MX-PE-PORTAL-18

Which bank statements should I prepare?

The checklist requires statements for the last three months, in original and copy. It gives no numerical minimum balance in that checklist; you must also provide departure travel or money to buy it.

References: MX-PE-CHECKLIST-18 MX-PE-PORTAL-18

Are exactly six months of passport validity enough?

The checklist uses both “minimum six months” and “more than six months”. Prepare more than six months as a precaution and confirm the reference date with the consulate.

References: MX-PE-CHECKLIST-18 MX-PE-PORTAL-18

Is yellow-fever evidence required for everyone?

The checklist links it to a stay in a tropical zone. Confirm the itinerary and how the requirement applies; do not treat it as universal for every trip to Peru.

References: MX-PE-CHECKLIST-18 MX-PE-PORTAL-18

Can I pay by bank transfer?

The inspected checklist describes a direct bank deposit, not a transfer, and lists MXN 525. Before paying, confirm the current amount, account and process through the official channel; do not use bank details from an old copy.

References: MX-PE-CHECKLIST-18 MX-PE-PORTAL-18

Can I apply the study rules of another Peruvian programme?

No. The inspected Mexican checklist does not establish the study limit or all stay conditions. Request those specific conditions before booking a course.
