Step 2

Apply for the visa

Create an IEC profile; an invitation precedes the work-permit application. The actual permit is issued at the border.

  1. Check the Belgian IEC category and single participation before creating a profile.
  2. Wait for an invitation, then follow the personalised checklist, deadline and biometric instructions.
  3. Submit the work-permit application through your official IRCC account and pay applicable fees.
  4. A POE letter is not a work permit. Prepare arrival evidence and inspect the actual permit at the border.

Step 3

After approval

Read the entire approval notice: identity, dates, entry deadline and conditions. Keep it available offline. Do not assume the visa starts on your preferred date.

Step 4

Prepare your trip

Insure the whole intended stay for medical care, hospitalisation and repatriation. Short cover can shorten the permit without a later extension for that reason.

Step 5

Start your Working Holiday

Bring passport, POE letter, insurance, funds, departure evidence and application copies. The bank statement must be issued within one week before departure. Check the permit before leaving the border.
