Documents and participation

Belgium and the Netherlands use subclass 417. Do not import subclass 462 education, English-test or support-letter requirements. Check the official rules concerning previous 417/462 participation.

Apply for the visa

Apply for subclass 417 outside Australia through ImmiAccount; later visas have separate requirements.

Check Belgian passport, age 18–30 and previous 417/462 participation.
Prepare identity, initial funds plus departure and requested health/character evidence. Do not transfer 462 education or language-test conditions.
Submit the subclass 417 application through ImmiAccount while outside Australia.
After grant, check entry, work and study conditions. A second or third visa needs a separate application.

Step 3

After approval

Read the entire approval notice: identity, dates, entry deadline and conditions. Keep it available offline. Do not assume the visa starts on your preferred date.

Step 4

Prepare your trip

Keep departure separate from the usual guidance of about AUD 5,000 for initial costs. Compare course length with the four-month limit and inspect the employer condition.

Step 5

Start your Working Holiday

Check employer and study conditions in the grant. The exact tax-registration procedure still requires ATO confirmation.

Work

You can work during the permitted stay. The usual six-month limit concerns the same employer, not all employment combined. Check official exceptions before continuing with that employer.

Study

Study or training is limited to four months. A short English course can help you build language skills without guaranteeing employment.
