Practical guide / official sources
Prepare for a Working Holiday in Poland: check Chilean-passport requirements, funds and application steps, then plan your trip and Polish preparation.
Governments can change visa requirements at any time. Always check the official government pages before applying.

Step 1
Apply from age 18 and before turning 31. Completing the form or booking is not submission. Age is only one requirement.
You need Chilean nationality and habitual residence in Chile. Your passport must have been issued within ten years, have two blank pages and remain valid for at least three months after the planned stay. Apply in person in Santiago.
The consulted Working Holiday checklist does not require a Polish or English test. Declare before the consul that language and culture are the main purpose, with work secondary. Jobs and courses set their own language expectations.
Explore Polish courses →Prepare the printed signed electronic form, two 35 × 45 mm photos, passport, funds, insurance and return evidence. Bring the apostilled criminal certificate required by the embassy, even though Chile’s summary mentions a declaration. No prior participation in this scheme or accompanying dependants.
Language courses · commercial service
Through ViveCampus, you can get quotes for language courses with international-student discounts. Offers may vary by your country of origin and destination. Request a personalized quote to confirm available discounts and the final price. Booking a course does not guarantee a visa.
Step 2
The embassy sets an annual maximum of 200 visas. This is the agreement’s cap, not a count of available places. Check current filing instructions.
Use the embassy-linked system to book. No 2027 annual opening has been established here. General D guidance asks for filing at least two weeks before travel; allow more time for documents, an appointment and assessment.
The listed fee is USD 235, paid in cash at embassy filing. General D guidance says it is not refunded after refusal. Insurance, flights and preparation expenses are separate.
General D guidance gives 15 working days from payment, with possible extension to 30 days for detailed examination. This is not a guarantee or a dedicated Working Holiday timetable. Appointment waiting and document preparation add time.

An appointment is not a visa approval. Check the embassy’s instructions before making firm financial commitments.
Official guidance and application accessStep 3
Wait for the written decision before committing to flights or study. If issued an authorisation, check its entry dates and all conditions.
The national visa provides twelve months. The work period starts when the visa becomes valid, not at a later arrival. The embassy mentions possible extensions in Poland, but no procedure or automatic entitlement has been established here: plan around the initial validity.
Step 4
Tick off what you have reviewed and use the links to return to anything still to do.
A personal planning aid; ticking the list does not confirm visa eligibility. Your ticks are not saved or sent. Reloading this page starts the list again.
Prepare at least PLN 20 for each day, plus a return ticket or an additional PLN 2,500 to buy one. The checklist accepts the last three months of your own bank statements or your credit-card evidence. Reconfirm accepted documents and budget realistically; the filing minimum is not the entire cost of the trip.
Arrange cover throughout the stay of at least EUR 30,000 and check medical and repatriation conditions. The embassy links an official list of compliant insurance products; check it before paying rather than assuming any policy is accepted.
Return travel is separate from daily support: show a ticket or at least PLN 2,500 to buy one. Check change and cancellation terms before committing; an appointment is not visa approval.
Step 5
The scheme permits paid work for twelve months from visa validity without a separate work permit. Cultural exchange remains the main purpose. It does not establish permission to work elsewhere in Europe.
Prepare your Polish and ask about courses that fit the trip. No numeric study limit has been established from the consulted programme sources here; confirm duration and conditions before enrolling. Do not assume this replaces permission for a full degree.
Explore Polish courses →The programme national visa allows multiple entries. The 12 months run from the visa validity start, not a later arrival.

The non-EU section requires address registration by the fourth day of residence at that address. Contact the municipality when moving in; do not use another category’s deadline.

Take the form, passport and visa to the municipality. The property holder must confirm your accommodation; check the evidence of their right to the dwelling.

A starting point for planning, not a promise of a job or accommodation. Check your visa conditions before working or studying.
Plan the route to your accommodation and keep the address available offline. Allow time to rest, get to know the area and adjust your budget to your actual expenses.
Return to my preparation checklist →Update your CV in Polish and practise a short introduction about your experience. Read what each role asks for and prepare for interview questions. Polish expectations vary between jobs.
Explore Polish preparation →Keep the consular contact for the area where you will stay, along with your accommodation details. If you will study, ask the school what arrival guidance it provides.
View consular contacts →If your plans change, review the costs, dates and relevant conditions before making new bookings.
Review each destination separately. Age, insurance and study conditions differ; an age filter does not decide whether you can obtain a visa.
