Age when applying
The programme requires age 18–30 when applying. The age comparison is guidance only: the consular section must review the full file.
Practical guide / official sources
Mexico’s Working Holiday route belongs to the Pacific Alliance’s Vacaciones y Trabajo programme. Review the application file, interview and work formalities separately before planning your trip.
Governments can change visa requirements at any time. Always check the official government pages before applying.

Step 1
The programme requires age 18–30 when applying. The age comparison is guidance only: the consular section must review the full file.
The programme includes Chile, Colombia and Peru. The checklist requires original passport and copy and strongly recommends more than six months’ validity; that recommendation is not recast as a different mandatory minimum.

A language-test requirement has not been confirmed for this route. Chilean Spanish speakers should not be directed by default to Spanish classes. If interested in another language, confirm course availability, duration and conditions separately.

Explore language course options →The section requires original passport and copy, a front-facing 40 × 30 mm photo without glasses, a free-form letter of motives and skills with the programme undertaking, funds, insurance and departure evidence. Legal Chilean residence evidence is requested from non-Chileans. Initial submission is by email and interview follows only if the file is endorsed; the programme-specific address was hidden by JavaScript in extraction.

Language courses · commercial service
Through ViveCampus, you can get quotes for language courses with international-student discounts. Offers may vary by your country of origin and destination. Request a personalized quote to confirm available discounts and the final price. Booking a course does not guarantee a visa.
Step 2
The agreement framework allows up to 300 visas per calendar year for each participating nationality. This is a programme ceiling, not confirmation of remaining places or a 2026 or 2027 call.
Email review and a later interview are established, but the programme address was unreadable. No dated annual programme window appears in the inspected section. The general calendar for other procedures is not converted into a Working Holiday opening.

The programme section confirms exemption under article 22 of the Federal Duties Law. This does not cover insurance, documents, travel or possible later immigration-procedure charges.

A programme-specific decision time has not been confirmed. File review, interview and later formalities are separate stages. Ask the consular section and avoid fixing travel based on generic timelines for other visas.

Sending the file is not approval. Confirm the authority’s instructions before making firm financial commitments.
Official guidance and application accessStep 3
Wait for the written decision before committing to flights or study. If issued an authorisation, check its entry dates and all conditions.
The programme’s indexed information describes a maximum stay of one calendar year. Confirm entry validity and subsequent formalities with the authority; the visa alone does not guarantee entry.

Step 4
Arrange signed and stamped bank statements evidencing the last-month average; do not use ordinary tourist or residence UMA thresholds. The specified insurance quote and departure reservation suffice for preliminary review; confirm the transition to purchased policy and ticket before committing costs.

A personal planning aid; ticking the list does not confirm visa eligibility. Your ticks are not saved or sent. Reloading this page starts the list again.
The programme section updated 7 April 2026 gives MXN 114,989.60 for 2026 during the last month. It requests originals and copies of investments or bank accounts, with statements signed and stamped by the bank. Holding it longer than one month helps support the application, but the text does not make that another mandatory minimum period. Adjacent categories’ UMA amounts are not applied.

Cover must include illness, maternity, disability, hospitalisation and repatriation. A quote is accepted for preliminary review; if proceeding to interview, bring a copy of the purchased policy to formalise visa issuance.

The programme section accepts a departure reservation for preliminary review but requests the purchased ticket at interview. General guidance advises against buying tickets before the visa. Both instructions are retained: ask how to comply without a non-refundable purchase before decision. The embassy warns it does not reimburse costs if the visa is refused.
Step 5
Work must complement the holiday rather than be its main purpose. Indexed programme guidance requires an INM work permit. Confirm this formality and the residence card before starting work; do not assume automatic permission on arrival.
Programme-specific information describes study or training for up to 2 months. Confirm current conditions before paying. Do not substitute ordinary visitor-study rules for this route.

Explore language course options →The visa lets you seek admission but does not guarantee entry. Keep evidence of holiday purpose, insurance, funds and departure. Before working, confirm with INM the card and authorisation required for your permission; this check did not establish a new current Working Holiday deadline or procedure.

A starting point for planning, not a promise of a job or accommodation. Check your visa conditions before working or studying.
Plan the route to your accommodation and keep the address available offline. Allow time to rest, get to know the area and adjust your budget to your actual expenses.
Return to my preparation checklist →Update your CV in Spanish and prepare a short introduction about your experience. Confirm work formalities before starting and check each role’s requirements, including other languages where relevant.
Review work conditions →Keep the consular contact for the area where you will stay, along with your accommodation details. If you will study, ask the school what arrival guidance it provides.
View consular contacts →If your plans change, review the costs, dates and relevant conditions before making new bookings.
Review each destination separately. Age, insurance and study conditions differ; an age filter does not decide whether you can obtain a visa.
Read the Australia guide → · Compare other destinations →The programme section gives MXN 114,989.60, equivalent to 365 days of Mexico City minimum wage, as the last-month average. Statements must be signed and stamped; do not copy other visas’ UMA figures.

The published requirement says during the last month. It adds that holding it longer helps support the application, without making that an additional requirement.

A quote may be attached for preliminary review. If proceeding to interview, bring the purchased policy with the full required coverage.

Programme text requests purchase for interview, but general guidance says to wait for the visa. Clarify that difference directly before a non-refundable purchase; a reservation is accepted for preliminary review.
The programme section confirms exemption from the visa issuance charge. Budget insurance, documents, travel and possible subsequent procedures separately.

The Working Holiday section requires prior file submission and interview only after endorsement. Obtain the programme-specific address and follow the appointment assigned by the consulate.
